Ps3 media library not updating
PS3 media server is now my go to application for transcoding and playing media around the house since development on Mediatomb came to a halt. So far it plays anything I throw at it on the Ps3 and the Sony NMP-200 I use around the house. Next, we need to create a file in the ps3mediauser home directory.
So there are a few extra things we need to do so that it runs on a Ubuntu Server in headless mode (without a GUI). Since PMS version 1.81.0, I’ve stopped using the manual installation and instead am using the repository.
I find it to be better than the PS3, easier to setup and maintain, and transcodes better. I will leave this PS3 setup page here, but I suggest UMS instead. Edit /etc/default/ps3mediaserver, locate the following items in the file and make the changes as indicated.
DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) and UPn P (Universal Plug and Play) are widely used guidelines for facilitating interoperability among different devices over the network.
QNAP DLNA media server allows you to stream the multimedia content stored on the NAS to various media devices throughout your house, while offering useful features to enhance your viewing experience, such as multi-language support and advanced privilege settings.
If you have enabled one or the other before, this setting will enable or disable every preconfigured configuration you might have done before.
So this setting can be understood as an overall-setting for UPn P.
